Bachelor of Food Science (Food Technology) With Honour

Bachelor of Food Science (Food Technology) was first offered in the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu starting July session 2007/2008. Now it has become one of the most popular programs for students to pursue their first degree. The program aims to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and highly trained and skilled in food processing and production technologies to produce safe and wholesome food. Graduates from this program can work in various public and private agencies in areas related to food science and technology, including research and development of food products, legislation and education. In addition, graduates are also given entrepreneurship knowledge that enables them to be innovative, and independent entrepreneurs in the food industry.

Entry Requirements

General Entry Requirements

  • Acquire Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with credits in Bahasa Melayu and pass the History subjects, and;
  • Acquire Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least CGPA 2.00 with Grade C in three (3) subjects including General Studies; or;
  • Pass the Matriculation-KPM/ Foundation Science in UM/ Foundation Science in UKM/ Foundation in UiTM and obtain at least CGPA 2.00; or;
  • Pass STAM – Obtained at least Jayyyid Rank; or;
  • Acquire a Diploma or other qualification recognised as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Public University Senate.

 

Program Specific Requirements

STPM
  1. Pass the STPM with at least a Grade C (2.00) in the following subject:
    • Chemistry
  2. Acquire at least Level 3 (Band 3.0) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Matriculation (Science)
  1. Pass the matriculation/ foundation with at least a Grade C (2.00) in the following subjects:
    • Chemistry/ Engineering Chemistry
  2. Acquire at least Level 3 (Band 3.0) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Diploma/ Equivalent
  1. Possess a Diploma in a field related to the course applied for; or;
  2. Have other qualifications that are recognised as equivalent and certified by the University Senate; and;
  3. Acquire at least Level 3 (Band 3.0) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
